Peace is the most desirable condition for man as an entity and for the world as a whole. It is very difficult to achieve global peace, no matter how many treaties or covenants are signed, especially if those who are supposed to abide by them or sign them do not have peace themselves.
We believe that if every individual tried to work only on him or herself, striving to achieve a personal state of peace, there will be no need for treaties or covenants. Even though it seems as unreal as global peace, we aim to provide an environment where people can work to obtain a true sense of peace, an internal peace, a state such that those who have obtained it or are even on their way start radiating it to their environment, becoming “centers for harmony,” thus not only setting an example but emanating this all-encompassing vibration of love and compassion that brings us to the consciousness that we are all one.
With the regular practice of yoga we learn to live every day more fully and aware. The development of discipline encompasses our physical, mental, and spiritual aspects, leading us to the attainment of internal peace that will enable us to understand more clearly the essence of our spirit and to realize the miracle of our existence.
IMAGINE
This popular song by John Lennon is an inspiration for us to envision a new world. We adapted several lines to encompass TRUE religion and the Brotherhood of humankind as we hoe to see manifest in our lifetimes.
Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
living for today…
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And true religion too*
Imagine all the people
living life in peace…
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...
You may say I’m a dreamer
but I’m not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will live as One
* Vyasa adapted this line from the original: “This change in lyrics reflects our belief that it is not religion that causes war; true religion connects us with God, the true source of Peace. It is the manipulation of people by war ‘leaders’ through the corruption of religious ideals that connects religion to war.”
