3 TYPES OF SHARES are offered

Main share of vegetables, fruit and supplements

Fresh vegetables, greens and herbs along with fresh fruit in season and ½ doz eggs each week plus cheese, bread, dried fruit and staple grains and legumes in rotation to round out the share providing whole foods for a balanced diet.  About 80% of the vegetables are from the Kimberton CSA farm and others are from organic growers in our region.  Regarding fruit, we do our best to provide as much Biodynamic and organic (not IPM) fresh fruit which can be up to 10-12 varieties over the course of the summer/fall and 3-5 throughout the winter/spring (however, this can be unpredictable in the changing climate.) 

Main share without bread

 
 
 

Bread is included in the main share (above) an average of 2 times every 4-5 weeks. The "No Bread" option is the regular main share with all supplements except for bread for those who, for whatever reason, do not wish to receive it in the CSA share.

Looking for wheat-free bread alternatives?

There are 3 varieties that can be ordered separately if desired: Spelt, Rye, and Gluten-Free (which is made from millet, tapioca, quinoa, brown rice, buckwheat, chia seeds). Varieties with Biodynamic whole wheat and organic white flour blends can also be ordered separately.

Veggie / Fruit Only

This is the same seasonal fresh vegetables and fruit that come in the Main Share.  Perfect for those who want a smaller share or prefer only the fresh food with none of the supplemental eggs, cheese, bread and dry goods.



HALF SHARE

For a half share, we recommend the BI-WEEKLY option which is receiving a full size share every other week. For those who prefer half share every week, a private arrangement can be made to split a weekly share with a partner.



We have 4 "SEASONS" for which you may register:  

  •    Full Year: May 29, 2024 - May 21, 2025 (50 wks)

  •    Summer / Fall:  May 29, 2024 - Nov 20, 2024 (26 wks)

  •    Winter / Spring:  Nov 27, 2024 - May 21, 2025 (24 wks) - skipping Dec 25 and Jan 1

  •   School Year: Sept 4, 2024 - May 21, 2025 (36 wks)

  • may be Summer Only (14 week) and Fall Only (12 week) options

FULL YEAR Discount

For those who register for our main share for the full CSA year, we have a special offer - $100 discount for weekly and $50 discount for bi-weekly which is built into the price in the chart below.  This is a commitment to the farmers, to your own health and eating habits, and to the School of Life organization that administers the program.  This refers to the Summer and Winter seasons combined i.e. June to the following May for a total of 50 weeks.

What is special about our bread?

Our bread comes from Sweetwater Bakery. All of the bread in CSA shares is 100% whole-grain and slow-rise from sourdough starter rendering it suitable even for many people who are considered wheat intolerant. It is made from certified Biodynamic wheat freshly ground on a stone mill, mixed and shaped by hand, and baked in a wood fire stone oven according to protocol set by Rudolf Steiner ( www.camphillkimberton.org/bakery/ ).  It is hearty and wholesome, and normally holds up a week or more. We rotate 6-7 varieties for a total of 10-12 times in a season.

Other varieties are available to order including:  gluten free, 100% spelt, 100% rye, 100% whole wheat with seeds called Prairie, plus several options with blends of Biodynamic whole wheat and organic white flour such as:  plain, walnut/raisin, with seeds, multi-grain, and oatmeal.
