We invite you to join us for a FARM TOUR Sunday, July 31. We will visit Kimberton CSA, one of the oldest CSA’s in the country; Kimberton Hills Dairy Farm, provider of Biodynamic milk for the Essene Church, and the CSA’s Biodynamic cheese; and Sweetwater Baking Co., who bakes delicious, digestible, nutritious bread and granola. And for a special treat, we will also be visiting Camphill Villages’ weavery, mosaic and craft shop. RSVP by emailing: shantiyoga.sol@gmail.com
The tour will mainly be guided by our staff, there may be some farm staff on hand to answer questions.

Depart from Washington DC Metro Area to arrive at Kimberton CSA by 11:30

Picnic lunch + Meet and Greet - Bring your own

Farm tour with CSA and / or Farm Staff
Afterwards: Visit Seven Stars Farm and Yogurt factory which is next door. Cows may be in the barn for mid-day milking and young calves are usually nearby and happy for visitors.
Around 2:00 Get into cars and drive to Meet at Sweetwater Bakery. Bathroom facilities here.
Tour bakery. There is a nice outdoor space with a flow form (water), and an indoor space if rain.
Visit Camphill Village’s weavery-crafts-mosaic room.
3:00 or so
Get into our cars and drive to the Dairy. Staff will give a short talk & tour. Perhaps watch the cows come in, walk to upper field
4:00 or so
Depart. Before returning home, people often like to go to Kimberton Whole Foods (open til 6 pm) a small local natural foods store. Bathroom stop.Head home
7:30 ETA for arrival back in Bethesda
DIRECTIONS
You are headed to Kimberton CSA. Minimum 2.5 hours one way, could be 3 or more depending on the route and if you make stops.

Starting from Washington DC on I-495 E;
Directions to Kimberton CSA
415 West Seven Stars Rd, Phoenixville, PA 19460
2 ½ hours IF non-stop and there’s no traffic. only toll is the Baltimore tunnel
Take the Beltway I 495 E
exit 27 onto Rt 95 N toward Baltimore
Continue for about 62 miles going through the tunnel at Baltimore (do not take the 895 harbor tunnel exit which is before you approach the city)
Exit 89 Rt 155 W Havre de Grace.
Go ~2.4 miles and turn right onto Rt 161
Turn right onto MD-623
Then right onto US Rt 1 North (entering Pennsylvania)
It’s about 8.3 miles to the MD 222 intersection
keep going on Rt 1 another 10.3 miles
Exit PA 10 toward Cochranville/Oxford
Turn Right onto PA 10 N. Limestone Rd follow for 14 miles
Right onto Rt. 30 East. Then slight right to stay on (avoiding the 30 E Bus) and go 12.8 mi.
Exit onto PA 113 N/W Uwchlan Ave toward PA 100/Lionville and go 10.0 mile or so.
Turn left onto Hares Hill Rd. Go 1.1 miles
Turn left onto W Seven Stars Rd. Destination will be on the left just past the Seven Stars Yogurt Farm and across from the Kimberton Waldorf School
To return to DC:
from intersection of Kimberton/Pughtown Road and Hares Hill Rd
Take Hares Hill road back the way you came, to the T. turn right onto PA-113 S.
Go about 9.5 miles, turn right to merge onto US-30W toward Lancaster
Turn left onto PA-10 S (this turn is in a sort of business area, gas stations and such)
Go about 14 mi and turn right to merge onto US-1 S.
Turn left at sign to US RT 95. After turning, you’ll see a sign for MD-276
In about ½ mile, at the traffic circle, go straight through to stay on MD 276
About 5 miles, then Left onto MD – 275
Couple miles more to take I-95 South and head home
After the Baltimore tunnel, it’s 40 min or so, the 2 right lanes split off onto the Beltway Rt 495-W toward Silver Spring.
