Cranial Sacral Sessions
Life in the body is working as a unified whole to manifest health, resist and combat disease, and to correct trauma.
~ Rollin Becker
The human body is composed of complex interflowing streams of moving energy. When these energy streams become blocked or constricted we lose the physical, emotional and mental fluidity potentially available to us. If the blockage lasts long enough or is great enough, the result is pain, discomfort, illness, or distress.
~ Robert Fulford
Cranial-sacral therapy is a gentle, hands on healing art that works directly with the body’s natural capacity for self-repair. It is based on the knowledge that the bones of the skull move rhythmically, filling and emptying by turns with a special substance called cerebrospinal fluid or CSF.
A strong flow of CSF is very important for cognitive function and overall health. It can become stagnant by lack of voluntary motion, trauma, toxicity, and age.
CSF was called “liquid light” by William Sutherland, who first recognized its importance. My teacher considers it to be the bridge between the physical and etheric bodies.
CSF transports nutrients and hormones to the central nervous system, helps regulate the circadian rhythms, and helps stem cells to proliferate or differentiate. CSF is of paramount importance in brain health, as it is the principal factor in the glymphatic system that cleanses the brain. 90% of this cleansing activity is thought occur during sleep, however, cranio-sacral therapy also stimulates this cleansing through inducing still points.
Cranial sacral therapy is helpful for people of all ages. It calms the anxious, relieves the sick, and helps to maintain and increase good health and vitality.
