Cranial Sacral Tune Up
Cranial-sacral therapy is a gentle, hands on healing art that works directly with the body’s natural capacity for self-repair. It is based on the knowledge that the bones of the skull move rhythmically, filling and emptying by turns with a special substance called cerebrospinal fluid or CSF.
CSF, which flows constantly through the brain and around the spinal cord, was called “liquid light” by William Sutherland, who first recognized its importance. My teacher considers it to be the bridge between the physical and etheric bodies.
Cranial Sacral therapy works with the rhythmic flow of the CSF
CSF transports Nutrients and Hormones to the central nervous system, helps regulate the circadian rhythms, aids cell migration and helps stem cells to proliferate or differentiate. It has photoreceptors, and helps regulate ionic balance, as well as providing buoyancy and shock absorption for the brain. CSF is of paramount importance in brain health: it is the principal factor in the glymphatic system that cleanses the brain. 90% of this cleansing activity is thought occur during sleep, however, the still points induced by cranio-sacral therapy also stimulate this cleansing. Therefore a strong flow of CSF is very important for cognitive function and overall healthy. It can become stagnant by: Lack of voluntary motion, trauma, toxicity, and age.
Cranial sacral therapy is helpful for people of all ages, from infants to the elderly and infirm, bringing deep calm and relief, as well as for the young and healthy to optimize vital functions.
