Morning Prayers of Shanti Yoga Ashram (Sunday - Friday)

Invocation

 Dear Lord, Divine Mother, we invoke Your presence and that of all of our deceased ancestors from the beginning of time; Avatars; Angels; Guardian Angels; Spirits of the Saints; Holy, Divine and Blessed Beings, and Teachers from all lineages, to come and join us, as we offer our prayers and our energies so that we can see the sacred teachings of Yoga as the thread that unites all religions, all spiritual endeavors, and all forms of worship in a precious garland to be offered at the Lotus Feet of the Lord.

We offer our prayers and our energies for the enlightenment of all sentient beings; for those who are suffering pain in any of its forms; for those who have asked us to keep them in our prayers; for those members of our community who are experiencing serious tribulations at this point, and for Peace and Harmony in the World.

Divine Mother, help us so that today all our actions become an act of worship; help us to learn how to love and express our gratitude properly to God, and to keep our resolutions for today.

And, let’s remember Christ’s saying: ‘When two or more of you are gathered together in my name, I will be in the midst of you.’

 (This prayer may be followed by the community’s petitions and offerings.)

Peace Prayer of Saint Francis

Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, hope.
Where there is darkness, light,
And where there is sadness, joy.
Oh Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled, as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning, that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
