Outreach Activities

Some other ways the ashram engages with the community are private yoga classes and university classes, field trips and the weekly Homeless seva

Private Yoga classes

If you have special needs or a schedule that precludes you from attending a group class, or you simply prefer one-on-one instruction, private classes can be arranged at your home or our center for individuals or a small group.  We start where you are and progress at your own pace. One time consultations to address a condition or establish a routine for your personal practice may be arranged.

University Classes

Georgetown University students can register for a 12 week semester course that covers the Principles of Yoga and a basic routine.  Excellent for stress reduction and developing a practice for long term health.  Taught by Saraswati.

Gayatri teaches a full course (for credit) at American University and George Washington University with yoga exercise and education in yoga as a way of life.

Field Trips

All are welcome to join the occasional day trip to visit modern "saints" for receiving darshan, local spiritual places such as a temple or mosque, to tour the farm, or participate in an event.  These are usually announced through classes or email.  To receive announcements for all events and classes, please contact Durga.
