| Water Yoga is an excellent way to deeply relax, while simultaneously
rejuvenating one's body , mind and spirit. The
warm, soothing environment offers the self-care that so many of us need,
whether dealing with a physical ailment, a stressful situation, or just
life's daily demands. It is also a great way to exercise for
anyone who loves the water and especially for people with conditions
that might limit their options for movement.
Gentle exercise such as yoga offers, with the amplified effect of warm water, loosens the muscles and joints of the body and washes away worries and concerns from the mind. It is for anyone, young or old, without age limit and from any walk of life, and can be especially helpful to people with limited capabilities such as arthritis, injuries, or overweight who might be uncomfortable with conventional yoga or other forms of exercise. It is also beneficial for people recovering from an illness, overwork, or excessive travel or jetlag, or for someone who struggles with relaxation due to inexperience or simply too much stress. Yoga exercise, in fact, was originally created to calm the body with the higher purpose of calming the mind; and the therapeutic effect of warm water is well known world wide from time immemorial. Yoga and water work synergistically for deep and lasting relaxation. Especially good for pregnancy, water removes the added weight allowing a woman to move freely; the warmth allows gentle yet deep stretching and movement. Being in the water helps connect with the baby who is in its own warm watery world. After birth, water yoga is a great way to heal and recharge for a mother's round-the-clock responsibilities; great for mother's night out. Classes include yoga postures, deep breathing and relaxation in a warm private pool. Classes are scheduled several times a week or private classes can be arranged for one person or a small group.
