	Residential Opportunities
	. A yoga community is being developed at the Shanti Yoga Ashram. The School of Life, created to give students an opportunity to practice Karma-Yoga (self-less service), has now established as its central motive: to support the healing of the planet earth and to bring peace to the world. In 1997, the Spiritual Food for the New Millennium project was started to support Spiritual farmers who use a protocol of homeopathic preparations and other strict practices according to guidelines of Rudolf Steiner, along with organic agricultural methods, to heal the soil. In 2001, after the terrorism in the U.S.A. and the resultant war in Afghanistan, a Global Coalition for Peace was formed to spread messages from prominent leaders and organizations about peaceful ways to reflect on and respond to the violence. This way, the spiritual practice of service to the community and to society finds a clear expression and offers the opportunity for self-development. .
	The following live-in options offer varying levels of involvement:
	. Rooms to Rent Those who live and work in the area are welcome as short or long term residents. Rooms are available in our convenient, yogic environment with kitchen and laundry privileges and use of the indoor heated pool is available. Participation in community life is encouraged. We ask all residents to honor our practices of cooking only vegetarian food and not smoking or drinking. Rooms are available in the main house with more activity and a greater involvement in community life, or in the annex with a quieter, more private environment. .
	Immersion Program The "Yoga Lifestyle Immersion Program" is a three month residential service and study period. Live at the ashram and delve into the teachings and lifestyle that yoga offers. You will have the opportunity to develop and establish your sadhana (spiritual practice.) Participants receive guidance in yoga studies and practice, and in developing and practicing household,office and management chores. The program prescribes 30 hours of Karma Yoga and 10 hours of study per week. While you experience living in a sattwic community, you will work on self-discovery and self-acceptance, and learn the true meaning of self-less service. Upon successful completion of the immersion program, participants can request an extension and/or be considered to join the community. .
